Cidery Tours
We enjoy offering visitors and cider enthusiasts a range of guided tours and tastings.
Come and soak up the historic surroundings of Ballinteggart Estate
and learn how it has become the home of Armagh Cider.
Cidery Tours run from May until November and our guides will make sure you have an interesting and memorable visit during which you will learn about our farm, our orchards and our apples. You will learn about why this area is perfect for growing the Bramley apple and the significance of its PGI Status (Protected Geographical Indication), a legal status awarded by the European Commission to protect and promote the names of high quality regional foods and drinks and guard against their imitation.
Much like the grapes used to make Champagne, only Bramley apples grown in the designated area within the Archdiocese of Armagh can truly claim to be the genuine article. The Armagh Bramley is one of only three foods awarded this status in Northern Ireland and really puts Armagh Cider Company on the map.
Harvest season is a treat for the senses – a kaleidoscope of colour
and the aroma of over 30 varieties of fresh apples.
You will discover the craft of cider making – from blossom to bottle!
Come on a tour and experience all that we do, why and how – and hear a little bit of home-spun history, too.
No tour would be complete without getting to sample our award-winning drinks in our cider barn. As well as a guided tasting of some of our best loved ciders, you can try other drinks in our award-winning range which is increasing all the time and now includes apple juices, mixers, tonic waters and lemonades – something for everyone!
Our tours are approximately 1.5 hours long and you will have a dedicated guide for the duration of your tour.
