Open Farm Weekend
We are currently planning for the Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend 2021 and will be revealing the date and activities very soon. Stay tuned to our socials for further updates!
We are proud to have been part of Open Farm Weekend since it started in 2012. We love nothing more than welcoming people onto our farm and we especially enjoy sharing the magic of Ballinteggat Estate with children and families.
There is lots to entertain everyone, including guided tours through our orchards and our production unit where our apples are pressed into juice, some of which is turned into cider and cider vinegar. You can see everything ‘from blossom to bottle’! The mums and dads can taste our ciders and there are special activities for children, including treasure trails, an orchard train, a photobooth with lots of props, a live demonstration bee hive, apple peeling competitions, and even the chance to make your own apple juice.
We also have a host of apple based food stalls and traders, along with a BBQ and locally made ice cream. We’re also happy for people to bring along a picnic – and if it rains, we have plenty of activities inside our very large farm buildings so you’re guaranteed a great day out no matter the weather.
As we have the Stud Farm, you may be lucky enough to see some foals which are just a few weeks old, and children will enjoy watching our pygmy goats playing!
